HIGH MANGANESE STEEL PLATES
Resistance to high abrasion and severe impact.
Hadfield Manganese Steel is an extremely tough non-magnetic alloy. The steel is characterised by a great capacity for work hardening, high strength, good ductility and excellent resistance to wear. it is unquestionably the best metal for resisting abrasion when this is accompanied by impact loading.

Our 11-14% Hadfield Grade steel wear plate is heat treated to the point that it develops a hard surface. On the hardness scale the product reaches a hardness score of 550 BHN through work hardening. This gives our steel almost five times the hardness of mild steel and almost three times the hardness of annealed stainless steel. As such, you enjoy a longer lifespan and extended protection of your equipment and facilities. All the while, however, steel maintains a ductile core. That means that despite its tough exterior it can still be readily fashioned into the form you desire.
As it wears, steel plate acquires a polished surface, rendering it aesthetically pleasing to the eye. It also affords good lubricity, allowing for an easy, positive flow of material across its surface.
